Velvety soft pastel: the volume is modelled by blending, every patch keeps a grainy edge and the colour stays natural. Pictures come out warm and unhurried, irises on their stems, a basket of wool, a quarry filling with green water, good for memoirs and books about living things. The series is one subject in five states of light or season: the light moves, the story does not.
