A series for folk tales and fantasy
Russian book graphics of the early twentieth century in the manner of Ivan Bilibin, the illustrator of Pushkin's tales: pen and ink, flat colour, cream paper and an ornamental border on every sheet. Pictures are stately and epic — painted sleighs on the snow, tented towers, a carved chest. The series reads like a book of tales, scene after scene in one world, held together by costume and colour.
