Charcoal on grainy paper: an open stroke, smudging in the shadows, highlights lifted out with an eraser, a pure monochrome. Pictures come out dramatic, a predator's face head on, a raven as a black mass, a face drawn down to the wrinkles. The series is a showcase of five images on one theme: each one names where the light falls from and what sinks into the dark.
